While in the USA I bought two pairs of Skechers thinking the Shape-Up design would not give me the stability on the dirt and gravel mountain roads that I walk each morning. But, I was amazed how well this shoes preforms. On steep inclines and declines it gives solid traction and great support. It seems that the sole design lays flat on the ground surface when going up and down grades. Plus, over embedded road stones it gives perfect support. The roads I walk are often wet and the shoe gives great traction on slippery surfaces. At first I experienced a little discomfort in my back as it strengthened. This is a great shoe and well worth the price for all kinds of walking.
