It has the standard DMX dual chamber air sacks that transfers air from the heel to the front of the shoe during the walking motion. The plus part is a bottom, outer surface that has a small, waffle pattern, almost plastic insert that provides a little more shock absorbency that the standard DMX shoe. Good deal for the money. I use them and would not return them. Still, no-where near the ultimate walking shoe.

This is really the ultimate walking shoe. DMX Max moves air from heel to toe as you walk for unmatched comfort. Slanted heel propels your stride forward.
